There have been a number of good, films over the years about men and women struggling to retain a sense of independence and dignity in the face of profound physical incapacity, and this is one of the best of the bunch. James McAvoy and Steven Robertson play the two wheelchair-bound central characters who form a strong bond with one another and their devoted, no-nonsense carer in what is an unsentimental but surprisingly optimistic story.
Moving true story of writer Dominique Bauby's stroke, which left him paralysed except for his left eye, with which he was able to dictate his memoir.
