This is the life story of an otter living in the English countryside, from his birth to when he first learns to swim, hunt and look after himself. It is beautiful and touching in places, with great footage of the otters (who prove to be natural stars) living along the river. However, it is worth knowing that the film stays true to Henry Williamson's classic book (and to reality), so there are some very distressing scenes.
