Synopsis

This wonderfully atmospheric horror triumphs over less sophisticated make-up techniques by focusing on the terrible inner turmoil of a man who has been transformed into a supernatural creature, and is no longer responsible for his actions. Lon Chaney Jr plays the hapless American bitten by a wolf during a visit to his father's castle in Wales. Suspicious locals blame him for a series of murders, but his father refuses to believe in the old legends.
