Synopsis

There are lots of screen versions of Jules Verne's great adventure about a Victorian gentleman and his servant taking up a challenge to traverse the globe in less than three months, but this might be the best. James Bond star Pierce Brosnan is excellent as Phileas Fogg, a chap who has all the stiff-upper-lip-under-pressure calm that British people are renowned for in fiction anyway. Assorted famous people who were alive during Fogg's time have been introduced to the story for added fun.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
