In George Lucas' fascinating debut feature, the setting is reminiscent of 1984, a hellish future where sedated humans have shaved heads and babies are made in test tubes. Names are a thing of the past; THX 1138 and his roommate LUH 3417 reduce their medication and create a baby. THX is then on the run from the robocops in a world where surveillance is omnipresent. A cult film and a dark predecessor to Stars Wars.
Doom-laden 1970s sci-fi about a man's rebellion against a 23rd-century world ruled by a fascistic computer.
