Synopsis

This brilliant sci-fi classic does exactly what it says on the tin. It's the story of Scott Carey, who - after being exposed to a radioactive mist - finds himself gradually but unmistakably shrivelling before his own eyes. Jack Arnold's direction doesn't just make the most of Carey's terrifying predicament from a visual perspective - featuring surreal encounters with suddenly giant pet cats, spiders and potentially fatal water drops - but grippingly explores the psychological impact of facing the world from just 2 inches above ground level.

What our educators say

"Some of them saw a clip from Wakolda (The German Doctor) on TV recently and really wanted to watch it. So I thought I’d take a chance, not expecting them to watch the whole film but the majority were absolutely gripped. "
