Synopsis

Young and in love, Sam and Suzy decide to run away from their family homes and escape into the great wilderness of a New England island. A keen boy scout, Sam is adept at outdoors survival techniques and they are soon content in each other's company, beneath the stars. Meanwhile, Sam's scout troop leaders are alarmed by his disappearance and begin tracking him, along with Suzy’s oddball parents. Wes Anderson's films always feature great actors playing quirky, dysfunctional characters, and this charming (and at times daft) 1960s-set comedy follows suit.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
