Synopsis

Gilderoy works as a sound engineer on films. He is a quiet, down-to-earth gentleman who goes about his business without any fuss. He agrees to work on an Italian horror film with a charismatic oddball director, who has him smashing watermelons, inducing screams, and going to great lengths to record the perfect sound effects, in order to realise his creepy artistic vision. The production is more intense than any other Gilderoy has worked on, and it quickly begins to take its toll on his psychological condition. There is no shortage of frights in this acclaimed, atmospheric exploration of the horror genre.
