Synopsis

Teen warrior Katniss Everdeen faces an even tougher battle for survival in this gripping sequel to the dystopian sci-fi action film The Hunger Games. After winning the first film's brutal death match competition, she and co-champ Peeta Mellark have become symbols of defiance to their district's downtrodden population. With rebellion consequently brewing, tyrannical President Snow decides to change the rules for an upcoming special version of the Hunger Games, to try to eliminate the dangerous pair forever. This time, only previous victors can participate, forcing Katniss and Peeta back into the arena opposite experienced killers. Based on the second novel in the bestselling young adults' trilogy, the feature is strongly performed and chillingly intense.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."
