Synopsis

Following on from the events of Daniel Craig’s previous outings as Bond, a cryptic message from the past leads 007 to discover that a vast espionage operation has been behind many of his former foes. Scouring the globe in search of clues, he gradually uncovers the sinister truth behind the mysterious organisation known as SPECTRE. Meanwhile, political developments closer to home threaten the very existence of the secret service. An impressive five-minute opening shot sets the tone for the scale and theatricality of the film, which gives greater prominence for supporting characters, particularly gadget man and computer hacker Q. With clever nods to iconography in the series and a focus on the modern age of digital data and surveillance, fans of traditional Bond films will not be disappointed.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."
