Synopsis

On 15 April 2013, the Boston Marathon was the target of a terrorist bomb attack that played out in the world’s media for several days as the perpetrators went on the run from police. Serving his first day back on the beat after a suspension, detective Tommy Saunders finds himself allocated to policing one of the city’s biggest annual events. Tommy finds himself at the centre of the action as the horror of that day’s attack unfolds, collaborating with the FBI as the terrorism element becomes apparent. As the investigation is rapidly set in motion, this docu-drama captures the tension of different agencies working against the clock to prevent further attacks, and the resilience of the people all over the city who came together in their response to the crisis.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
