Synopsis

The coastal village of Sunnytown provides a peaceful existence for its residents, until one day when the town’s beloved mayor, JB, mysteriously disappears. While fishing, a little cat named Mitcho and his small elephant friend Sebastian find a message in a bottle from the missing mayor, along with a seed which they plant. JB writes that he’s stranded on a mysterious island and has made a great discovery. After the seed grows into a giant pear overnight, Mitcho and Sebastian use the oversized fruit as a vessel to sail the seas and find their friend, battling against sea dragons, pirates and ghosts along the way! Adapted from the Danish children’s book ‘The Incredible Story of the Giant Pear', this is a bright and vibrant family animated adventure.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."
