Synopsis

Jack is a struggling musician whose dreams of pop stardom are slowing disappearing despite the support coming from his childhood best friend and manager, Ellie. After riding his bike home from a gig one night, a power outage occurs across the world and he is struck by a car. Upon waking up in hospital, he soon discovers that the world has forgotten one of the most famous and influential bands of all-time, The Beatles, and he sets about recreating their songs, soon becoming a music sensation across the world. However, he soon realises that fame and fortune might mean losing Ellie, the one person who always believed in his talent. Yesterday is a hugely entertaining fantasy about the joy that music brings to people, respecting intellectual property and the cost of super-stardom.

What our educators say

"Some of them saw a clip from Wakolda (The German Doctor) on TV recently and really wanted to watch it. So I thought I’d take a chance, not expecting them to watch the whole film but the majority were absolutely gripped. "
