Synopsis

Insurance clerk CC Baxter thinks he's a smart cookie - he owns a flat in Manhattan which he lends out to executives from the company for secret affairs. This way, he thinks, he'll get promoted faster. Of course, it's not that easy. Baxter has fallen in love with the company's receptionist, Fran, who thinks he's one of the few honest men in the company. But when Baxter gives his boss the keys to his flat, he realises the boss is having an affair with Fran! It's a moral dilemma that unfolds into a funny, touching love story, set in the hubbub of 60s New York.

What our educators say

"Some of them saw a clip from Wakolda (The German Doctor) on TV recently and really wanted to watch it. So I thought I’d take a chance, not expecting them to watch the whole film but the majority were absolutely gripped. "
