Synopsis

In the USA, spelling championships - also known as Spelling Bees - have grown in popularity. Children of all ages compete around the country and then in the Scripps National competition for big prizes. Watching the highly entertaining Spellbound, which follows eight competitors as they aim for the big leagues of spellers, is surprisingly exciting viewing.

What our educators say

"We are currently screening The Wizard of Oz, profound film that it is, and the last film Wall-E. It's been rewarding observing the KS1 6 year olds run the gamut of emotions from wonder to sadness to joy. "
