Synopsis

Comedies don't come more fast-paced than this zinger of a movie set in the offices of a Chicago newspaper. No-nonsense editor Walter Burns has already lost Hildy Johnson as his wife - and is now about to lose her from the staff of his paper. Determined to prevent this from happening, Walter sets about ruining Hildy's plans to remarry using every devious trick he can come up with - including having her fiancé arrested, and tempting her with the scoop of her career. His Girl Friday remains one of the most riotously entertaining and witty comedies to ever be made in Hollywood and is the perfect, engaging entry point to the screwball genre.

What our educators say

"We are currently screening The Wizard of Oz, profound film that it is, and the last film Wall-E. It's been rewarding observing the KS1 6 year olds run the gamut of emotions from wonder to sadness to joy. "
