What does it take to win a modern war? Physical courage and technological innovation is the answer in this British World War Two drama. It's about the ingenious bouncing bombs a scientist named Barnes Wallis invented to destroy German dams and so cripple industrial production - but also about the bomber crews sent on the dangerous mission to deliver them. The movie manages to be both unashamedly patriotic and yet at the same time clear about the costs of conflict.
A young soldier who has just arrived in Vietnam is torn between the influence of two sergeants.
