Synopsis

Want to know exactly how surprising and exciting pop music seemed to its fans in its early days? It's all captured in The Beatles' rollercoaster of a first film. It's a fake documentary, with the band being chased by huge mobs of screaming girls, getting into trouble and always finding time for a spot of madcap hilarity. A Hard Day's Night looks like it was all made up on the spot - in fact, it was all carefully scripted, but the film is still filled with pure breathless energy and pop thrills.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
