It is easy to tell that this film was made near the start of Elvis Presley's film career - because he plays a man who commits a terrible crime and ends up in jail (something it's hard to believe his managers would have let him be seen doing on further down the line). In prison, Elvis' character of Vince learns to sing and play guitar - setting him up for a pop career and, eventually, to the famous climax of the film, when he plays the title song. Decent songs and Elvis' snarling charisma make this possibly the best film ever made by "The King".
This film contains mild violence and instances of smoking.
