Synopsis

Some people think that with movie comedy you have to choose between the joys of people falling over, and super-fast dialogue full of great lines. But The Lady Eve proves you don't need to make a choice between the two - because this superb comedy boasts both the perfect script, and some of the finest scenes ever filmed of a man getting his dinner poured all over him. That man is rich, sweet and clueless Charles - who's on his way back from an Amazon expedition when he meets slinky con-woman Jean, a glamorous dame who has him dazed and confused in no time at all. But will he come to his senses in time to stop her getting her hands on his fortune?

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
