Soul legend Ray Charles' life story was extraordinary by anyone's standards - raised by a poor single mother, his childhood was blighted by tragedy, and he eventually went blind. Despite all that - or maybe because of it - he went on to become a superstar singer. This excellent biopic celebrates Charles' talent and determination while not covering up his problems with addiction and womanising. Jamie Foxx combines a spot-on impersonation with a performance that also puts across the real man behind the legend.
This film has a few uses of moderate bad language and contains drug use.
