Synopsis

An Oscar-nominated nature documentary that offers a truly bird's eye view of life. Shot over several years, the film follows the paths of migrating birds all over the globe, from the Arctic to the Antarctic and all points in between. The director used light aircraft and even hot air balloons to capture some of the aerial shots - with the film that results revealing how hard life can be for the birds, with predators (both human and animal), bad weather and other perils to contend with. But it also provides a beautiful, awe-inspiring look into a world that we would otherwise never get to see.

What our educators say

"Some of them saw a clip from Wakolda (The German Doctor) on TV recently and really wanted to watch it. So I thought I’d take a chance, not expecting them to watch the whole film but the majority were absolutely gripped. "
