Daniel Plainview is an oil man in the America of the 1900s who makes his fortune persuading the communities in towns where oil has been found to let him drill for it. It's a job that's well suited to his cut-throat personality - which is softened at least a little by his relationship with his adopted son H.W. But as the years go by and Daniel becomes more and more wealthy, he also becomes increaslngly isolated from everyone around him. With a performance from Daniel Day Lewis that earned him the 2008 Oscar, There Will Be Blood is a film that will live on in your memory long after the closing credits have rolled.
