Into Film Clubs
Find out everything you need to know about starting an Into Film Club.
As part of our exciting partnership with Aardman, we're thrilled to present Animate! with Aardman, a stop motion animation training course tailored specifically for primary educators.
The course, which is split into six short instructive and engaging videos, is hosted on our very own Learning Platform, and you can begin the course today! Created by the genius animators behind such beloved classics as Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep and Chicken Run, this one hour on-demand course is designed to be used with young learners, and will teach primary educators everything they need to know to bring the magic of stop-motion animation into the classroom.
With busy timetables, we know you want to get the most out of every lesson, and stop motion animation is a creative way to integrate learning from across the curriculum. Pupils can use this kinaesthetic opportunity to put their unique spin on any topic, from demonstrating how a volcano works to answering questions about the planets... the creative opportunities are infinite! What's more, stop motion animation encourages pupils to build their understanding and fine-tune their storytelling skills.
Each of the six short videos is classroom-ready and is led by an Aardman director or crew member who each share their skills and set a task. The course covers all the essentials, from generating ideas, to storyboarding and adding sound effects.
In addition to the full course, we're also delighted to present a sequence of exclusive video tutorials designed to complement the Animate! With Aardman course. These videos walk you through simple starting points for classroom animation projects, with Aardman director Gavin Strange as your guide! These handy highlights from an exclusive webinar with Aardman we held in 2023 cover practical tips and tricks for animating with learners - whatever your level of experience or the equipment available in your school. This sequence of tutorial videos is available on-demand to give you the flexibility to learn whenever you want, wherever you are in the UK. Start learning for free today!
