Into Film Clubs
Find out everything you need to know about starting an Into Film Club.
Our own Into Film Festival is coming together with the BFI London Film Festival as part of their new education programme, offering students across England and Scotland the chance to experience exclusive preview screenings and Q&As in October.
Primary aged students in London, Bristol, Leeds and Glasgow will be able to see an exclusive preview of Abominable on 8 October, while secondary age students in London, Bristol, Sheffield and Glasgow will have access to a preview of The Aeronauts on 10 October. These screenings are sure to fill up quickly, so be sure to book your places as soon as possible!
Both screenings will be followed by a special guest Q&A (to be announced soon) which will be simultaneously live-streamed to each venue. The screenings will be accompanied by free learning resources from BFI Education, grounding the adventures in the classroom via materials connecting the films to the national curriculum.
The Aeronauts, starring our very own celebrity ambassador Eddie Redmayne, is a true story set in 1862 that follows young widow Amelia Wren (Felicity Jones) and headstrong scientist James Glaisher (Redmayne) as they mount a balloon expedition to fly higher than anyone in history. It encompasses a myriad of topics and themes, including science, history, geography, what it means to take risks, belief in yourself and making a difference, all of which make The Aeronauts an exciting springboard for lessons in a broad range of subjects.
