We were delighted to have a special pupil premiere of Disney's Frozen II close this year's Into Film Festival, with a host of young people being the first to enjoy the further adventures of Elsa, Anna, Olaf and friends.
This year's Festival has been our most successful ever, with half a million attendees joining us at over 3,000 screenings and events taking place in 580 cinemas all across the UK.
We are thrilled to have hosted the most successful Into Film Festival to date reaching a wider audience than ever before and we are particularly proud that, over the past two Festivals, we've been able to give over 50,000 children and young people their first experience of a trip to the cinema which they loved!

From our opening event, in which climate change documentary 2040 kicked things off with screenings across the nations - including a satellite-linked Q&A at many locations - to a screening of Mary Queen of Scots in Stirling Castle with new ambassador Jack Lowden, right through to our Frozen II pupil premiere, the 7th Into Film Festival has been a resounding triumph.
Other highlights included a pupil premiere of Welsh language show Deian a Loli with the actors and filmmakers, a special Wee Critters film event in Northern Ireland, several UK events in celebration of the half centenary of the moon landings including a collaboration with Live Cinema UK at Leeds Town Hall, a one of a kind panel discussion on the process of music videos, women's rights panels following screenings of On the Basis of Sex, a talk from Cornelius Walker on his Academy-Award nominated short Black Sheep, Greenpeace presented talks following a series of UK pupil premieres of Biggest Little Farm, an extensive industry talk from Digital Cinema Media and many more. As ever, careers in film were highlighted with talks from industry professionals and high-profile organisations such as Action Aid, Oxfam and Stonewall.
It has been a truly humbling experience for me as, for more than half of the children in the school, this was their first experience of attending a big screen event. I was moved to tears at comments such as 'This has been the best day of my life'

Children and young people at our Frozen II screening were greeted with some frosty fun ahead of the screening, with the opportunity to decorate their very own Christmas wreaths as well as have their faces painted and their hair braided in Elsa's iconic style. With an audience that laughed and applauded throughout the screening, it seems like Frozen II is set to rival the original in popularity among young people. And with the film's environmental themes shining through, the event made for a perfect book-end to our 2040 launch.
