Into Film is heading Into Space & Home

We're delighted to once again be teaming up with the UK Space Agency to deliver a fantastic new project - Into Film: Into Space & Home.

Building on the success of Into Film: Into Space and celebrating the imaginative work conducted on European Space Agency astronaut Tim Peake's Principia mission during his time on the International Space Station (ISS), this new project for 5-19-year-olds will encourage young people to get creative and take inspiration from the world of space.

The project will include lots of great free activities for young people around the theme of space and delve further into Tim Peake's important work on the ISS. What's more, budding young filmmakers can enter our out-of-this-world competition, creating short films inspired by space exploration and by Tim's stellar mission.

The Into Film: Into Space & Home competition calls for young people to pick up their phones, tablets and cameras to create space-inspired short films, while the project will also include space-themed screenings and talks, as well as talks on VFX, animation, and gaming - all industries that rely on a strong foundation in STEAM subjects (Science, Technology & ICT, Engineering, Art & Design and Maths.)

Engaging talks will be taking place in schools across the UK to encourage pupils to consider career opportunities in these industries. Aiming to help pupils understand the link between subjects covered in the classroom and the potential career paths open to them in these exciting industries, the talks will be accompanied by Space and Science resources, filmmaking guides, and space-related young peoples' films to help inspire other young filmmakers.
