Into Film Clubs
Find out everything you need to know about starting an Into Film Club.
Congratulations to Meadows Primary School and Nursery, from Ketley, Telford, who have been crowned Into Film Club of the Year: 12 and Under at the 2017 Into Film Awards.
The Meadows Primary School film club has been running for nearly 16 months and in that short time they've watched a wide range of film genres, from anime to silent movies, and musicals to stop-motion animation. This has inspired them to make their own short films, and all of the children have tried some aspect of film-making from preparing storyboards, writing scripts, shooting films and editing films together.
Pupils attending the film club have also won Into Film's Review of the Week on several occasions, and recently one of their students was one of three winners of our Roald Dahl Review Writing Competition.
I'm so happy we've won this award because I never thought anything like this would ever happen to me in my life.

Winning this award felt like a dream come true. We haven't been going that long - to win is amazing.

The Club of the Year: 12 and Under award was presented by actor Ruth Wilson, who spoke to us about her passion for film: "Film is about telling stories, and in stories you can educate, you can entertain, you can open kids' eyes to what the world is out there, what opportunities are out there, and what things they might face. It's also a place of escapism, where your imagination can run wild. For me, film is a very important thing and a form of education as well as entertainment. I wish I had a film club when I was younger!"
