Into Film Clubs
Find out everything you need to know about starting an Into Film Club.
Ruby Barnhill, the young star of Steven Spielberg's The BFG, has just become the youngest ever Into Film Ambassador at the age of 14.
The exciting news was officially announced on Thursday 22 November at an Into Film Festival screening of Mary and the Witch's Flower, in which Barnhill voices Mary, at the Curzon Cinema, Knutsford.
I am honoured and excited to be able to inspire a new generation of actors and filmmakers in the North West and across the UK on behalf of Into Film.
Ruby Barnhill (14) - Into Film Ambassador
Our ambassadors represent Into Film in a variety of ways, including school and college visits, as well as lending support to our annual events such as the Into Film Awards and the Into Film Festival.
Ruby joins an extensive group of film industry figures who champion our work, including Sir Kenneth Branagh, Naomie Harris, Eddie Redmayne, Katie Leung and Kevin Guthrie. We truly appreciate the continued support of members of the film community, in helping us to provide all children and young people across the UK with the opportunity to establish a meaningful and long-lasting relationship with film, both as an art form and a potential career.
In a very short space of time, Ruby Barnhill has established herself as one of the best young actors working today. She rose to fame in 2016 when she was just twelve years old, as the star of Steven Spielberg's The BFG opposite Mark Rylance, and has since appeared in television series 4 O'Clock Club and as lead voice actor in Mary and the Witch's Flower. She is next to be heard lending her talents to another animation, Princess Emmy, where she will voice a young girl who can speak to horses.
Make sure to check out Ruby's full Getting to Know feature with one of our young reporters.
