The Marvels: Be Your Own Hero, created in collaboration with Marvel Studios, is a curriculum-linked educational resource for learners aged 12+ which draws on the characters and themes in Marvel Studios' The Marvels, in cinemas November 10.
The Marvels is Marvel Studios' latest action-adventure in which we see the return of Captain Marvel, Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, and S.A.B.E.R astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau in a cosmic team-up to save the universe.
The Marvels: Be Your Own Hero draws on the themes of self-belief and empowerment in the new film to explore how our heroes can inspire us to fulfil our own aspirations.
Our new multi-curricular learning sequence can be used in assembly and classroom settings, and helps teachers engage students across PSHE, RSE, English/literacy, and art and design.
The resource includes:
Role on the Wall activity
Watch a clip from The Marvels to introduce students to the character of Kamala Khan. What does the fan art in Kamala Khan's room tell us about who she admires? Facilitate a discussion about how we can be inspired by our heroes, whilst avoiding comparison with them.
Becoming Your Own Hero activity sheet
Learners will explore the skills and positive traits that they can offer to the world. Draw on the theme of teamwork in The Marvels andencourage students to share their findings with one another, framing their discussion on how they can aim higher, further and faster together.
Careers extension activity
Build students' self-confidence to achieve their career goals in this research task. Students will consider the skills that they already have which would be beneficial to their preferred roles, as well as those which they would need to develop.

We have developed a large catalogue of educational resources since launching in 2013, and some references and terminology will inevitably have dated as society and language evolves. We are aware of this and will be updating resources when our production schedule allows.
