To celebrate the recent cinema release of Trolls Band Together, we launched a brand-new learning resource. Trolls: The Reunion Tour is a cross-curricular learning framework for use with pupils aged 7-12, which channels the film's infectious energy into a dynamic lesson sequence with links to physical education, maths, English/literacy and art & design.
As part of the resource, we ran a Trolls Reunion Tour competition, asking learners to get creative and design a tour poster for BroZone, the band featured in the film. Entrants were asked to think about what essential information to include, as well as how to create an image that is both eye-catching and conveys a clear message.
Congratulations to Niamh, aged 10, from Markinch Primary School in Fife, Scotland, whose entry was chosen as the overall winner. "I'm so excited I won this competition!", said Niamh, who has won a karaoke machine and a Trolls Band Together merchandise bundle, as well Trolls Band Together snap bracelets her whole class. Check out Niamh's dazzling BroZone tour poster below!
We would also like to give a special shout-out to our runners-up for this competition, each of whom will receive a Trolls Band Together merchandise bundle. Congratulations to Mason, aged 11, from Kirkhill School in Aberdeen, and George, aged 10, a home educated learner from Cambridge.
"Thanks so much for the merch", said Mason, upon learning of his runners-up prize. "I can't wait to see it! I enjoyed using my creativity skills and my knowledge of the films to create the advert for the band!"
Check both Mason and George's runner-up entries below.
Trolls: The Reunion Tour invites pupils to imagine they're on the road with BroZone, offering a series of activities that support curriculum learning objectives and expose learners to career pathways in the creative industries.
You'll be star-struck as your class strut their stuff and work together to choreograph debonair dance moves for BroZone in our Dance activity. They'll also have the opportunity to create a model stage, and plot the band's tour logistics in our Tour Times activity. After dazzling you with their creativity and organisation skills, learners will gain further insight into real-world careers through a feature-writing activity that supports writing for purpose literacy skills.
Combining lesson plans, classroom activities and a homework task, Trolls: The Reunion Tour includes a PowerPoint presentation, activity sheets, teaching notes, and a careers information sheet.
