Bursting onto the scene in 2017, Wonder Woman, from director Patty Jenkins, became a worldwide sensation, establishing itself as one of the highest grossing films to ever be directed by a woman. Whilst this film was set primarily during World War One, Diana Prince now finds herself with a new threat to contend with forty years later.
During the Cold War, Wonder Woman now comes up against two new enemies: a media businessman named Maxwell Lord and a friend-turned-foe in Barbara Ann Minerva, AKA Cheetah, while also reuniting with her love interest, Steve Trevor. Expect some incredible action scenes and a powerful message of honesty and goodness prevailing over evil.

Come Away
In this reimagining of their origin stories, Peter Pan and curious Alice are siblings growing up on the outskirts of Victorian London. Alongside their older brother, David, they let their imaginations run wild in the English countryside across a blissful summer. Their make-believe tea-parties, sword fights and pirate ship adventures come to an abrupt end, however, when tragedy strikes in the family with David's sudden death.
With their parents struggling to cope with the loss struggling financially and turning to alcohol Peter and Alice travel into London to try and help. Ultimately this leads them on separate adventures, as Alice journeys down the rabbit hole and Peter finds his way into a separate magical realm as leader of the "Lost Boys". Come Away is an enchanting tale which explores the joy of storytelling and childhood adventures while also tackling hard-hitting subjects such as grief.
New to DVD this week
The Witches
Set in 1968 and taking place in the American south, a young boy goes to live with his loving grandma after his parents pass away. After an encounter with a suspicious woman, his grandma informs him that witches are, in fact, real, dangerous and have the ability to sniff out children. Whilst teaching him how to spot and distinguish a witch from a normal person, the duo escape to an old hotel for safety but soon discover that the Grand High Witch is in town and has a dastardly plan to turn all the children in the world into mice. Based on the celebrated novel by Roald Dahl, The Witches is an adventurous, and ever so slightly creepy, story about resilence for children and adults alike.

A Christmas Gift From Bob; Pinocchio
A festive sequel and a classic children's story gets an update in our final new release highlights of the year. In A Christmas Gift From Bob, James - who was formerly homeless - now has accommodation but must continue to busk for long hours to keep the lights on. Accompanied on the streets by adorable cat Bob, who's friendship gave him the strength to become sober last Christmas, the authorities suddenly threaten to have Bob taken away, claiming they are concerned at the long hours he spends outdoors. After so many years isolated and homeless, James must find the courage to ask for help from those around him and learn that he's not so alone after all.
In this new, traditional version of Pinocchio from Italy, lonely puppet-maker Geppetto discovers a magical piece of wood in the forest and decides to make a puppet out of it, designing a young boy and calling him Pinocchio. One day, Geppetto is surprised to find that the puppet has come to life and has an eagerness to explore the world around him. Here starts an adventure where Pinocchio meets a series of incredible characters, some of whom look after him whilst others try to exploit him. Darkly comic and slightly more mature than previous versions of the story, this film nevertheless retains its powerful message of exploring what it means to be alive and the importance of kindness.
