To celebrate the recent cinema release of Wonka, we launched a brand-new learning resource. Wonka: Pure Imagination is a curriculum-linked learning sequence for pupils aged 7-12, which offers them the opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial spirit, inspired by Wonka himself.
As part of the resource, we ran a 'Who would you share it with?' competition, asking learners to write about who they would share their Wonka-inspired treats with, and why.
Congratulations to Hermione, aged 9 (and three-quarters!), from St. Mary's School in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, whose entry was chosen as the winner out of more than 500 entries! Hermione's submission saw her explaining that she would share her chocolate with her dog, Helen. And don't worry, Hermione knows that dogs aren't supposed to eat chocolate - but this is a very special confectionary, laced with some Wonka-style magic that makes it fit for both hounds and humans!
Hermione has won a £100 cinema voucher for herself, as well as copies of the Wonka book for herself and her whole class.
"I am over the moon about winning, and I am looking forward to watching some new films at the cinema with my family!", said Hermione after learning of her win. "I enjoy being creative whilst writing, and I loved having the chance to create my own chocolate that I could share with my dog".

Wonka: Pure Imagination, created in partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures, invites learners into a world where new ideas are celebrated for their power to surprise and charm. The resource calls on young inventors to apply their entrepreneurial flair in planning and pitching their own marvellous chocolate creations.
Channelling Wonka's melting pot of magic, spectacle and self-belief, your pupils will become chocolate inventors driven by their own ingenuity. A series of invention-based activities allow learners to flex their creativity and develop their entrepreneurial spirit, inspired by Willy Wonka himself.
The learning sequence offers a series of invention-based activities that makes links to curriculum topics from KS1 and KS2 (or equivalent) in maths, design & technology, art & design, English/literacy, PSHE and science.
