Into Film are working with Arts Award to help encourage young people involved in our Into Film programme to gain arts accreditation and further develop their creative talents.

The Arts Award accreditation links with Into Film's own programme of film watching, making and understanding - whether your students or youth group are discussing and reviewing films in a communal club, attending the Into Film Festival, taking part in filmmaking activities or engaging with members of the film industry.

Together we have produced joint mapping resources that outline what steps you can take through our programme to help your students achieve this accreditation. The mapping tools show Into Film activities that can be adapted to support the Discover, Explore and Bronze Arts Award Accreditation framework.

Some of the activities include film watching, reviewing and sharing, exploring our library of interviews with film industry experts to gain insight into the industry and producing a film, either individually or as a team, to submit to a filmmaking competition.

About Arts Award

Managed by Trinity College London in association with Arts Council England, Arts Award has been growing since its launch in 2005 and is now flourishing in schools, community projects, libraries and more.

There are 5 awards available on the Arts Award scheme - Discover, Explore, Bronze, Silver and Gold, with Into Film supporting Discover (an introductory award open to children 5+), Explore (open to 7+) and Bronze awards (open to 11+). Both the Discover and Explore award are suitable for SEN students.

Updating our resources

We have developed a large catalogue of educational resources since launching in 2013, and some references and terminology will inevitably have dated as society and language evolves. We are aware of this and will be updating resources when our production schedule allows.

What our educators say

"As an alternative provision for learners who are not in mainstream school we use your resources in a slightly different way as they generally find it hard to watch a full length film. They are, however fantastic. "
