Lights, Camera, Action: Cinematography Through Science

Develop your pupils' Science skills as they explore how light travels through a creative, problem solving activity. Placing their work in a real-world context, students will apply their understanding of light and shadow to recreate a range of film genres as they are introduced to the work of a Director of Photography.

This resource is aimed for use with pupils aged 7-14 and designed for flexible delivery in a variety of contexts: in subject-specific lessons, specific careers lessons, or during an Into Film Club.

Updating our resources

We have developed a large catalogue of educational resources since launching in 2013, and some references and terminology will inevitably have dated as society and language evolves. We are aware of this and will be updating resources when our production schedule allows.
