How do Into Film Clubs work?
Find out more about what's involved in running your very own Into Film Club.
7–14
The Film Buff Challenge is an exciting way for all our young film lovers and their club leaders to engage with film like they never have before, by watching a wide range of short films that will challenge and open up viewing choices.
As well as being fun, Film Buff Challenge is also a powerful educational tool with a range of supporting activities and resources to explore key themes and topics.
Let the Film Buff Challenge take your pupils on a magic carpet ride through different genres, countries and film mediums, to widen their horizons and broaden their knowledge of a world they may never have experienced before.
What's more, whether you are in class, working at home, self-isolating or in lockdown the Film Buff Challenge is open and accessible to everyone.
For ages 7-11. 10 films, 72 mins in total. Password: FilmBuff2020
Upon successfully screening all 10 short films and writing a review for one, club members can earn a Silver Film Buff award. By reviewing/discussing five films (using a variety of response methods) they gain the Gold award, and to receive the top level Platinum award (and keyring) members will need to watch all 10 short films, and complete one of the additional activities in the Film Buff Challenge workbook.
We have developed a large catalogue of educational resources since launching in 2013, and some references and terminology will inevitably have dated as society and language evolves. We are aware of this and will be updating resources when our production schedule allows.
