To accompany our Reel to Real education project with the learning department at the Victoria and Albert Museum, these learning resources bring the JB Priestley's play An Inspector Calls to life in a new and interactive way. Based on JB Priestley's play, which has been a mainstay of the English GCSE curriculum for many years, the film draws out the mysterious elements of the text and features a terrific performance by Alastair Sim as the all-knowing inspector. This resource and PowerPoint presentation that makes use of the V&A's collections to analyse both the film and stage play by exploring character, meaning & interpretation through clips from the 1954 film adaptation of the play and short extracts from the 1993 National Theatre production, courtesy of the V&A.

Updating our resources

We have developed a large catalogue of educational resources since launching in 2013, and some references and terminology will inevitably have dated as society and language evolves. We are aware of this and will be updating resources when our production schedule allows.
