About Into Film
Find out all about Into Film, the UK's leading charity for film in education.
Our England team, based in Salford, Bristol, Birmingham and London, delivers tailored workshops and resources across England supporting the needs of the curriculum by linking to the eight Gatsby Benchmarks for screen careers, providing quality resources linking to PSHE modules on resilience, and highlighting the value of film education. By watching our rich catalogue of films via Into Film+ or engaging in our events or competitions such as Film of the Month, our work gives schools evidence of SMSC activity and provides them with cultural capital.
We work collaboratively with a range of partners across England to enhance the reach of our offer including The Careers and Enterprise Company Careers Hubs, Local Cultural Education Partnerships, charities, cinemas, film industry partners, universities, and Multi-Academy Trusts. We are an Artsmark Partner and Arts Award supporter.
A quarter of all UK state schools have streamed content using Into Film+. In England, you will find schools across 158 Local Authorities engaging with our programme; from Redcar & Cleveland to Plymouth, North Lincolnshire to North Somerset and everywhere in between.
Into Film+ is the free* and rights-compliant film streaming service for UK schools. Stream a wide range of classic and new release films directly into your classroom or extra-curricular setting. With additional teaching resources, film guides and exclusive bonus content, Into Film+ brings learning to life.
What's more, if you're a state school in England, you'll have access to Into Film+ Premium, which offers an extended catalogue of 500+ new releases, classic films, documentaries, and TV programmes.

Our Programme Delivery Coordinators work directly with schools and with partners to deliver high quality teacher training. We also work closely with universities and Initial Teacher Training Providers across England to support and inspire teachers at the start of their career wanting to use film in the classroom. We understand the needs of educators and the barriers teachers face, and endeavour to tailor the sessions to support successful engagement with the Into Film offer.
"I just wanted to thank you again for your training tonight. It was incredibly useful and felt manageable. I feel like it could have a great impact in school and I am looking forward to seeing the projects begin." Deputy CEO, Rutland Learning Trust.
Summer term 2024 webinar training sessions include Get Into Screen Industries, Raising Literacy Through Film Level 2, Get Into Filmmaking and Wellbeing: Mindfulness Through Film.
