Synopsis

What would happen if one day the animals on a farm decided that being milked, over-fed and eventually sent to slaughter didn't really suit them? What if they got rid of the farmer? That is what happens in George Orwell's famous book, from which this smart film is adapted using a mix of real animals, puppets and CGI animation. Orwell wrote the story as a reaction to what had been happening in Russia under Stalin, but you can still get into the story if you don't know much about that period of history.

What our educators say

"Some of them saw a clip from Wakolda (The German Doctor) on TV recently and really wanted to watch it. So I thought I’d take a chance, not expecting them to watch the whole film but the majority were absolutely gripped. "
