Synopsis

All is not well on Tweedy's chicken farm. The chickens feel cooped up like prisoners, laying eggs all day. Ginger, a plucky young hen, is always coming up with different plans for them to escape. Their prayers seem to be have been answered when they are joined by Rocky, a rooster who has run away from the circus, because he claims he can teach them to fly over the fence towards freedom! But will they manage in time, before the evil farmer Mrs Tweedy turns them all into chicken pies? This good-natured animated film from the makers of Wallace and Gromit offers a fun take on classic escape movies such as The Great Escape to delight audiences both young and old with relentless egg puns, action-packed chases and an inspiring determination to live freely.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."
