This surrealist animation from 1973 tells the story of a future where humans have been taken from Earth to act as pets to the giant alien race of Draags. Based on a novel by Stefan Wul, Laloux's animation brings to life the odd details of life on planet Ygam, such as predators who capture humans in their cage-like noses and devices for transmitting knowledge directly into the brain. Full of bold ideas, Fantastic Planet is a classic of sci-fi animation.
Contains moderate fantasy violence and natural nudity
