The supervillain with a surprisingly big heart, Gru, returns for a second adventure alongside his minions and his newly-adopted girls. In this story, a mysterious aircraft steals a valuable chemical agent leading the director of the Anti-Villain League (AVL) looking to recruit Gru to help them track down the culprit. Gru refuses, however, enjoying life as a new father and the owner of a real, lawful business. But when Gru’s assistant Dr. Nefario leaves his job to return to criminal life, Gru changes his mind and decides to take on the case, teaming up with AVL agent Lucy Wilde. Gru immediately suspects supervillain Eduardo Pérez as the possible perpetrator, even though he’s rumoured to be dead after riding a shark into a volcano with explosives strapped to his chest! As Gru and Lucy look into the case and become closer while doing so, Gru’s three adopted daughters hope for a romance between the pair as they dream of having a mother one day. ‘Despicable Me 2’ is a light-hearted superhero adventure which also contains themes around family, adoption, and belonging.
Contains very mild scary scenes and slapstick violence
