Synopsis

Blessing is a bright, popular and vivacious young woman, whose school life is transformed when one of the people she is closest to discovers that Blessing is HIV positive. With horrible speed, Blessing’s vibrant community becomes the loneliest place for her to be, characterized by bigotry and intolerance. This engrossing, powerful short film explores social issues surrounding HIV/AIDS and the stigma it continues to receive. Developed with the charity Body & Soul, the recognizable urban setting brings home the fact that these are vital topics that need to be understood by all, and highlights the immense danger of ignorance and gossip surrounding such issues.

What our educators say

"We are currently screening The Wizard of Oz, profound film that it is, and the last film Wall-E. It's been rewarding observing the KS1 6 year olds run the gamut of emotions from wonder to sadness to joy. "
