Synopsis

With Caesar’s conquest of France almost complete, only one tiny village stands in the way of his total domination of the country. Unfortunately for him, that village is home to the famously plucky Gaul Asterix, who along with his friend Obelix leads the offensive against the advancing Romans. However, there is a tactical shift as the Romans build ‘The Mansion of the Gods’, a luxury housing development within view of the Gauls, to flaunt their lavish Roman lifestyle. Before long the villagers are less interested in independence and more keen on getting a taste of the finer things in life, and Asterix and Obelix find themselves with a real challenge on their hands…

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."
