Synopsis

Buster Moon is an optimistic koala who has been enchanted by the stage since he was a kid – but as an adult in charge of his own theatre, it’s getting harder and harder to make his shows successful. To draw in the crowds, Buster puts on a talent contest advertising a cash prize – which accidentally becomes much bigger than he can afford. Unwilling to give in to this setback, Buster goes ahead with the competition, and hundreds of animals queue up to audition. Making his final shortlist are put-upon housewife Rosita, soulful gorilla Johnny who’s afraid of disappointing his gangster dad, overlooked punky porcupine Ash, smooth operator Mike the mouse, and stagefright-stricken elephant Meena. For all these creatures, taking the stage is their dream come true – but how will they react when they discover the truth about Buster’s grand prize?

What our educators say

"We are currently screening The Wizard of Oz, profound film that it is, and the last film Wall-E. It's been rewarding observing the KS1 6 year olds run the gamut of emotions from wonder to sadness to joy. "
