Synopsis

Following a group of puppies from their birth and through their training as guide dogs for the blind or partially sighted, this inspiring documentary showcases the hard work that goes into preparing these special dogs for a future career. Primrose, Patriot, Poppet, Potomac and Phil are five golden and black Labrador puppies, chosen to undergo two years of guide dog training but, typically, only one will meet the rigorous standards expected of them and be selected as a fully licensed guide dog. Who will be the Pick of the Litter? A ‘dogumentary’ that is educational, uplifting and, of course, full of adorable puppies.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
