Synopsis

Filmed over fifteen years and made entirely from home videos and personal archives, this incredible story by filmmaker Jason Baker spans him and his partner’s pregnancy journey. As a transgender man the process of giving birth is difficult and lengthy, as well as challenging emotionally due to homophobia and transphobia in the media. The documentary frankly and movingly depicts Baker’s relationship with his long-term partner, capturing moments of both joy and turbulence as they embark on several medical procedures while juggling their daily lives and personal struggles, such as the loss of loved ones. This intimate documentary is an informative depiction of the unique experiences of transgender individuals undergoing pregnancy, as well as a useful way to introduce conversations around LGBTQ+ love and relationships, mythology and personal documentary filmmaking.

What our educators say

"We are currently screening The Wizard of Oz, profound film that it is, and the last film Wall-E. It's been rewarding observing the KS1 6 year olds run the gamut of emotions from wonder to sadness to joy. "
