Synopsis

Leo is a transgender boy who, close to his 16-year-old birthday, becomes one of the first children in Britain to be prescribed hormone blockers. This treatment prevents the changes that come with being biologically female and would enable Leo to embody his gender identity. This documentary explores the positive effects this decision has on Leo’s mental health, while also the challenges that come with his journey. With a supportive family, Leo’s parents share their own experiences of Leo’s childhood, and the film also features Leo’s friendship with another transgender man who provides guidance and mentorship. Candid and accessible to young people, this short documentary sheds light onto the unique experiences of transgender teenagers living in the UK.
