Synopsis

Set in the beautiful French province of Auvergne, Être et Avoir focuses on a small school of just 13 students, who range in age from four to twelve years old. The children are much like any other, as they take their classes, do their schoolwork and help their parents - but their inspirational teacher Georges Lopez makes life exciting as he opens their minds to new ideas and encourages them to be the best people they can be, both for their own sake and others.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
