Synopsis

In Casino Royale, the James Bond series made a gritty return to its roots, with Daniel Craig taking on the legendary role for the first time. Taking us back to the beginning when Bond has to earn his "00" status (or "license to kill") this film takes us to Uganda, Madagascar, the Bahamas and Montenegro with plenty of chases, explosions and classic one-liners along the way - not to mention a high-stakes poker game where Bond faces his nemesis, the evil banker "Le Chiffre". But the stakes get even higher when Bond starts to fall for a beautiful woman who enters his life.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
